Greeting card giant, Designer
Greetings is faced with intricate inventory control and fulfillment requirements
in the highly competitive retail greeting card market. Their challenges are "many":
reconciliation of import container receipts, highly seasonal inventory and a
large and changing number of SKUs spanning multiple warehouses.
PowerHouse/WMS was selected
because the system promotes accurate receiving of containerized, floor loaded
goods, managing those goods based on their seasonal attributes. When container receipts are
reconciled, PowerHouse/WMS will direct inventory to the optimal storage location
in reserve or active pick areas based on each item's seasonality and velocity.
The challenge of managing pick
face assignments, familiar to retail suppliers, may require the entire picking
area to be reconfigured as each seasonal product launch passes. With PowerHouse/WMS this process will
be automated including the re-location and re-slotting of existing inventory,
saving time and eliminating errors while providing another opportunity for
