Piscataway, NJ - QSSI, a technology leader in providing Distribution, Fulfillment, Warehousing Automation and Supply Chain Software, announced an agreement today with The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to install Powerhouse/WMS at the MoMA New Jersey distribution center.
The Museum was founded in New York City in the summer of 1929 to make modern and contemporary art available to the public. From an initial gift of eight prints and one drawing, the collection has grown to encompass more than 100,000 works in a variety of mediums, divided into six collecting areas: architecture and design, drawings, film and video, painting and sculpture, photography, and prints and illustrated books. In addition to a collection of over 100,000 works,the Museum operates a distribution center from which it fulfills orders for a wide variety of products including books, greeting cards, CD's, furniture, fashion accessories, desk accessories and stationery, toys and gift items.
PowerHouse/WMS will be used to manage the flow inventory from receiving to fulfilling orders and replenishments that are generated from MoMA's Online Store, Catalog, Wholesale and Retail operations.
- The MoMA Online Store features a wide selection of the newest and best-selling items from the Design Store and Bookstore. Special focus is on gifts for every occasion, as well as accessories of personal style, items for the home, and recent MoMA exhibition catalogs (visit www.momastore.com).
- An annual publication of more than 50 pages featuring many of the products available in the MoMA Design Store. The selection includes furniture, desk, tabletop, travel and personal accessories; toys, household tools, stationery, and other gift items (mail order phone number is 212-708-9888).
- The Museum produces and distributes an innovative line of holiday cards and gift items that include vases, umbrellas, lamps, scarves, Tibor Kalman's M&Co line, and a variety of products inspired by the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.
- MoMA Bookstore offers an extensive selection of books, greeting cards, posters, postcards, and small gift items. In addition to MoMA publications and exhibition catalogs, more than 8,000 titles cover subjects relating to the Museum's six curatorial Departments: Painting and Sculpture, Drawings, Prints and Illustrated Books, Architecture and Design, Photography, and Film and Video. Also included is a selection of international exhibition catalogues, art magazines, and artist books.
