PowerHouse/WMS

RF Functionality

PowerHouse provides the ability to perform any warehouse operation via an RF device. Our unique implementation of RF technology allows PowerHouse to work with any vendor's RF units, even within the same warehouse. On the back end of the RF systems, PowerHouse uses a powerful set of communication applications to facilitate data transfer between the RF units and the database. These applications follow the PowerHouse philosophy of being scalable by the simple addition of inexpensive PCs and provide immediate failover response in the event of the loss of a machine or connection to the machine.

An administrator has the ability to pre-set default values that can be automatically entered into certain fields (such as an Owner ID or adjustment code) and to control to some degree which screens and fields will be displayed. For instance, if you want your employees to scan the item ID during picking as well as the location ID, you can turn this field on. These defaults can be applied to all workers in the warehouse, or you can apply different defaults to a specific user. For example, if most of your receivers work at DOCK1, you can set that as the default receiving location, but if you have one receiver who always works at PROD-REC1, you can make that the location displayed by default for just that one user.

RF displays are typically fairly small. The PowerHouse RF screens have been designed to display as much information within a small area as possible without becoming confusing. Whenever possible, secondary data fields (such as a hold code which may be entered rarely) have been moved to supporting screens accessed through a function key.

Full, on-line help is available for all screens in the system. By simply pressing the F1 key, the user can read instructions for using the screen they are on. If an error or warning message was displayed on the screen, pressing F1 will bring up more details about the message.

Users can also type messages that will be displayed to the administrator and the administrator can enter in messages to one specific user or a group of users. The administrator can also view, in real time, the screens that the user is using, and they can also access the visual history of all prior screens that the user has been on. This is very useful in solving a user's problem as well as during training.
