PowerHouse/WMS
Receiving
|
|
PowerHouse WMS allows for many varieties of receiving. Different receiving methods can be
based on the receipt, the type of receipt, a particular line on a receipt, the item, the owner
of the item or the location where the product is being received.
|
| |
|
PowerHouse WMS allows product to be received in piece, case and pallet quantities using pallet
IDs and/or carton IDs to provide a tracking mechanism within the warehouse. If an item is
identified as being a Catch-Weight item, the appropriate screens to record the weights, as well
as the quantity, of the item will automatically be displayed. The same holds true for clothing;
if the item is identified as being Apparel, the system can be configured to automatically
display screens for recording the style/color/size of the item.

|
Lot IDs, serial numbers, tracking dates, expiration dates and a host of other information can
be recorded during the receiving process. The system can be configured to force the user to
enter in any of these values or it can be set up to record them if supplied, but not to prevent
the user from moving forward if the data is not entered. The system can also be configured
with receipt tolerance levels, which can prevent a receipt from being over or under received
if it is not within a certain percentage of the expected quantity.
|
| |
|
ASN receiving is also fully supported at both a carton and pallet ID level. When an ASN ID is
scanned, the system can automatically receive the item and quantity that were specified for that
pallet or carton during the original ASN transmission. The user also has the ability to override
the stored information in the case of shortages or damaged shipments.

|
| |
|
PowerHouse has extremely powerful Cross-Docking functionality. In addition to being able to
cross-dock received products to fill orders, the system can be configured to direct the cross-
docked product to fill restocks, to replace order and restock picks already allocated by the
system, and to top off min/max levels. The Cross-Docking function also includes logic to help
the receiver to sort non-palletized product coming out of shipping containers onto uniform
pallets.

|
When receiving with an RF unit, the system will walk the receiver through the collection of
information about the received product. It begins with identifying the receipt that the
product is coming in on, and progresses through specifying the pallet ID that will contain
the product, the item being received, any special information such as lots and holds (if necessary) and the
quantity being received on the current pallet. When this is complete, the user will submit
the pallet for putaway and the system will bring up the screen to identify the next pallet
(assuming that they are working on the same receipt) or the user can continue to receive
product onto the same pallet, as in the case of a carrier pallet, at which point the system
will return them to the screen where they can identify the next item.
